The Dress Shop of DreamsThe Dress Shop of Dreams by Menna van Praag

I was given this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are 100% my own.

Goodreads.com Synopsis:
Since her parentsโ€™ mysterious deaths many years ago, scientist Cora Sparks has spent her days in the safety of her university lab or at her grandmother Ettaโ€™s dress shop. Tucked away on a winding Cambridge street, Ettaโ€™s charming tiny store appears quite ordinary to passersby, but the colorfully vibrant racks of beaded silks, delicate laces, and jewel-toned velvets hold bewitching secrets: With just a few stitches from Ettaโ€™s needle, these gorgeous gowns have the power to free a womanโ€™s deepest desires.

Ettaโ€™s dearest wish is to work her magic on her granddaughter. Coraโ€™s studious, unromantic eye has overlooked Walt, the shy bookseller who has been in love with her forever. Determined not to allow Cora to miss her chance at happiness, Etta sews a tiny stitch into Waltโ€™s collar, hoping to give him the courage to confess his feelings to Cora. But magic spellsโ€”like true loveโ€”can go awry. After Walt is spurred into action, Etta realizes sheโ€™s set in motion a series of astonishing events that will transform Coraโ€™s life in extraordinary and unexpected ways.

My Review: 5 out of 5 stars. Ohhhh this was a good one! A hint of magic in a world that can be full of sadness. This book was a bit magical for me and I absolutely loved it. The Dress Shop part reminded me of A Vintage Affair by Isabel Wolff (which made my top 6 to read for this month…including this book). Definitely pick this one up and add it to your TBR pile!!
