The answer is more simple than people make it! I The answer is more simple than people make it!

I get asked this question A LOT. โ€œI donโ€™t know where to start.โ€

And boy howdy, thatโ€™s a statement full of overwhelm if there ever was one. Gardening is extremely accessible. And once you start growing your own food, you will never go back.

So this is how Iโ€™m going to help you get over the hurdle of knowing where to startโ€ฆ

My question: What do you LOVE to eat? Like to eat is good. But love to eat is better.

Thatโ€™s it. Write down what you love to eat and that is where you start.

Next is to know what your frost dates are so you know what your growing windows are.

Go to google and type in your zip code + frost dates. Like this: 76109 + frost dates

Once you know those dates, you take your list and find out when those veggies/fruit fit within your growing window. (i.e. Are they cooler weather plants or warm weather plants?)

PRO TIP: Google your states extension office garden growing guide!

Next up: where are you going to plant these plants?
Raised beds, containers, in the ground?

This is where you start. Need more help? My DMs are always open.

P.S. If you want a garden that protects itself โ€” without chemicals or constant guessing โ€” comment SYSTEM and Iโ€™ll DM you the link.๐Ÿ’š๐ŸŒฑ๐Ÿ’š

I plant sunflowers because they are pretty & attra I plant sunflowers because they are pretty & attract pollinators/beneficials but also because they can be used as a trap crop for your garden.

This season Iโ€™m growing several varieties. Pictured in the video is Mongolian Giants and Iโ€™m really looking forward to see these bloom.
